Bizkaia Bridge during COVID-19

This period of very little social activity has been used to clean and paint different parts of the structure, boarding halls, and terraces, and implement different preventive maintenance activities, such as the replacement of some of the trolley wheels, gondola wire-rope ties and mooring systems.

Maintenance work has been stepped up daily with special cleaning and disinfection works carried out at the entire facility using Viribiol Plus bactericide, fungicide and virucide, thereby helping to combat and prevent COVID-19.

Road signs have also improved to ensure gondola control and access safety during boarding. Together with the annual revision and certification of all Bizkaia Bridge lifelines.
