“(…) un estruendo sonó en mis oídos (…)” film

A film consisting of a series of historical archive shots of the destruction of the Bizkaia Bridge during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), accompanied by the text of a poem by Carlos Gómez Guadalupe. The video sets out to raise awareness of the harm done by armed conflict to our cultural heritage and therefore to people’s memory and identity.

Part of the Dame un Minuto (Give me a Minute) initiative run by UNESCO Etxea, the UNESCO centre in the Basque Country, since 2010 to “raise awareness in society of infringements of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”.
