World Heritage Site managers meet at the Bizkaia Bridge

On 6th and 7th October 2015, under the slogan “World Heritage: social benefits and local development”, the Bizkaia Bridge hosted the 9th meeting of managers of World Heritage Sites in Spain, an annual forum organised by the ministry of education, culture and sport to encourage reflection on the challenges faced by these managers.

At the Bizkaia meeting the social benefits of rational use of heritage for local development were discussed at several talks and workgroups, and also the study “More human towns, more social heritage”, by Amaya Herrero and the sub-directorate general for the protection of historic heritage, was presented.
